Kaley Cuoco just spilled some MAJOR tea about her ex-husband, Ryan Sweeting. The Big Bang Theory star may be engaged to equestrian Karl Cook, but that doesn't mean her previous relationship doesn't still affect her to this day. In the May issue of Cosmopolitan, Kaley opened up about finding love again after her first marriage ended in divorce after less than two years.
Kaley married Ryan, a former professional tennis player, in December 2013 after a whirlwind three month romance. Though they both look madly in love, the couple announced they were going their separate ways in September 2015 – and according to Kaley, Ryan is to blame.
“I honestly thought I wouldn't get married again. My ex ruined that word for me. I married someone the first time who completely changed. The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met. And that wasn't my fault — that was his. I knew how much I had to give and how much I wanted to receive.”
But despite the heartbreak, Kaley admits that her quick marriage taught her to take her time with her new fiancé instead of rushing into anything again. “I knew I just had to be patient,” she told the magazine. “I had to go through a lot of things, but it brought me to Karl.”
Now, the actress is the happiest she's ever been. She and Karl met in 2016 and have been together ever since. If you haven't seen his proposal video, then prepare to laugh and cry at the same time.
But that's not all scoop we got from Kaley! In a new interview with Vogue, she revealed she once dumped a famous actor because he was a bad tipper! Unfortunately, she wouldn't disclose his name, but she did say, “Let’s call him John. Because if I tell you his name, you’d know who he is.”
“We had this great dinner, we got along and the conversation was great. The bill comes, and [I asked to split it with him], and he says, ‘Absolutely not. I’m taking you on the date,'” she explained. “So he takes the bill out and he’s looking at it really seriously…He goes to the calculator on his phone, and he’s multiplying like an 8% tip. ‘Oh my god, he’s cheap. He’s a bad tipper.'”
OUCH! What's worse than a terrible tipper? So who is this mystery guy? She was 19 years old, which means it has to be someone she was dating in 2004/2005. As Jezebel points out, it could be Jonathan Taylor Thomas, who dated Kaley after he appeared on 8 Simple Rules. We can't know for sure but maybe her “Let's call him John” comment was just a decoy!
All this to say, the bad tipper and her failed marriage to Ryan is what ultimately led her to the love of her life. Therefore, as the most famous cliché states, “everything happens for a reason.”
